Smarte Carte’s Singapore Cart Operations Featured in the Quarterly Issue of ONE Changi Magazine

SmarteCarte_OneChangi_thumbSingapore 3 March 2016 – When vacationers return from their trips, all happy with their many bags of loot and souvenirs, what is the first thing they look for? Luggage carts and trolleys, that’s what! These pieces of equipment help to ease their heavy loads. Hence, if the trolleys are not readily available, the Changi experience would be off to a negative start.

“We play an important part in welcoming our passengers to Changi,” says Anthony Lim, General Manager. “As such, we have to ensure that there are enough trolleys at the critical touchpoints such as Arrival and Departure Halls at all times.”

In order to do that, Smarte Carte deploys some 250 Trolley Service Officers and supervisors across the three terminals daily. In an effort to streamline operations, the organisation rolled out the new Dynamic Deployment initiative in August 2015. “This is a more flexible plan that allows our trolley retrievers to roam about and sweep the airport for scattered trolleys. They can also better support cross-terminal operations.”
