SMARTE CARTE ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF FIRST CLASS SEATS AND SIT BACK & RELAX MASSAGE CHAIR VENDING BUSINESSES

ST. PAUL, MINNESOTA (February 2008) — Smarte Carte, Inc. has expanded its role as the passenger and guest services leader at airports, shopping centers and entertainment venues by adding automated massage chairs to its list of service concessions. Smarte Carte announced today that it has successfully completed the acquisition of assets of two premier massage chair vending companies; Sit Back & Relax of Bedford, New Hampshire, and First Class Seats, Inc. of Racine, Wisconsin. Combined, the companies operate more than 4,200 vended massage chairs at more than 600 airports, shopping centers and other public venues in the U.S.

Founders of First Class Seats, Mark and Marsha Eberhardt, will join Smarte Carte and continue to be actively involved in the daily management of the business. “We have long believed that merging with Smarte Carte was the best possible outcome for First Class Seats,” said Mark Eberthardt. Sit Back & Relax owners, Kyle Nagel and Lori Lyon had a similar reaction to the acquisition, saying, “Smarte Carte’s existing presence in malls and airports are a perfect match for massage chair vending.”

Chairs from both companies provide an affordable alternative for back and neck massage therapy, offering customers a “deep tissue” three minute massage for just one dollar – or 15 minutes for $5.
