SMARTE CARTE CELEBRATES 40TH ANNIVERSARY AND SEVERAL MAJOR CONTRACT WINS IN 2007

SAINT PAUL, MN (November 2007) – With 2007 marking its 40th year providing self-service luggage cart services to air travelers, Smarte Carte, Inc. is especially proud to announce that the company has been awarded contracts at several major airports this year.

The list includes Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport – the most traveled airport in the world. Over the past year, the company has also been awarded contracts at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport, Cleveland-Hopkins International Airport, Corpus Christi International Airport, Jacksonville International Airport, Kansas City International Airport, Long Beach Airport, Miami International Airport, Mobile Regional Airport, Norfolk International Airport, Omaha-Eppley Airfield, Orlando International Airport, Sacramento International Airport, Salt Lake City International Airport, San Diego International Airport, Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport, and Valley-Harlingen International Airport.

“These are all major contract wins for Smarte Carte and demonstrate our ability to respond to the evolving needs of passengers and airports in North America.” said Arthur Spring, the company’s senior vice president in charge of business development. While luggage carts are a popular passenger service today, in 1967 (with the exception of a few international arrivals areas) luggage carts were not available at US airports. Smarte Carte began providing the service at the airports in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Salt Lake City and Los Angeles with the belief that “helping people help themselves” would make travel more convenient and enjoyable. While doing so, Smarte Carte introduced North American airports and air travelers to the convenience of self service long before things like ATMs, airline check-in kiosks, and robotic kiosks that vend everything from DVD rentals to the iPod® became common place at airports.

St. Paul, Minnesota, based Smarte Carte pioneered the luggage cart industry 40 years ago and continues to lead the industry with innovative self-serve products and an emphasis on customer service. Today Smarte Carte has operations at over 1000 transportation, shopping and entertainment facilities worldwide, including more than 150 North American airports.
